Beatrice Occhini is an Italian writer and translator from Catanzaro, Calabria.
Talee, in English Propagating a cutting, is a collection of poetry inspired by her life.
This was a beautiful and soulful project I was proud to work on.
The book uses the metaphor of the botanical process of propagating cuttings dividing the structure in three sections;
1. Tagli - Cuttings
The process of cutting a plant stem
2. Radicazione - Rooting
After taking the cutting the stem it is placed in a sandy soil mix - this is a very delicate phase of the process.
3. Messa a dimora - Planting
The cutting finally creates roots and begins a new life a plant on its own.
